In Bloom In Autumn

A floral Ted Baker Eana Dress with a Velvet Chanel Boy Bag

I can’t believe it’s the 1st of October already! Can you? Time really has flown by this year and it’s shocking to think where it’s gone. It feels like only a little while ago that it was Christmas and now it’s Christmas again in just over 2 months time! How crazy is that! I’m definitely noticing more of a chill in the air now though and the leaves are starting to change colour already, so Autumn is definitely on its way and I’m quite excited since it’s my favourite season! But, lets get to my outfit as that’s the focal point of this post.

I was wearing this absolutely gorgeous Ted Baker Eana Technicolour Bloom Skirt Dress, which I think has the perfect floral print for Autumn. Usually florals are worn in the Spring and Summer, but I think if they have deeper and darker undertones to them, much like this floral print, it works perfect for the cooler months too! I did originally think this Ted Baker dress was a skirt when I saw it on the model and I was most surprised to open the package and find a dress as I had already planned on a crop top to style it with, but I think the top of it works really well with the skirt and the zip up the back is pretty as well as functional. For sizing on this dress, I took it in size 1 if you are wondering and I’m about a UK 8. Ted Baker sizing can be quite complicated, so hopefully that helps!

To keep things feminine and elegant, I went with my Christian Louboutin Pigalle 100 in Black (similar here) to give my legs some height and keep them slender and then added some more jewel tone colours with my beloved Chanel Small Boy Bag in Bordeaux Velvet (similar one by Rebecca Minkoff). I think it’s the perfect rich tone to add enough vibrancy to the look to complete it, not to mention I’m absolutely in love with my new Chanel bag and want to wear it any chance I get! But I think the intense shade is just harmonious with the darker floral print. I finally finished it off with some various bracelets in gold and cream, just to bring a touch more femininity to the Ted Baker dress. What do you think of it? Do you like it? I’d love to know! Please comment and tell me!

Your hair color (and style) is divine. How can it be done. I’m dark ash blond – light ash brown. i want natural looking color like yours. Thank you.

Thank you! My hair is dark ashy blonde or light ash brown too naturally, but I had some highlights put through in June with a high lift tint from Joico at my hairdressers. I only had them put in around the front and the top and sides, mostly where the sun would hit to make it look natural.

No, my hair is actually really, really thick. I have such thick hair that its equivalent to about 3 normal peoples hair. It’s also not straight. It’s straighter around the front and sides, as well as the top layers, but the back and underneath is really thick and wavy. It’s very mixed and complicated. It also gets quite coarse so I have to use deep nourishing shampoo and conditioner.

Yes, it’s crazy!!! I have the same feeling, can you believe I started planning the menu for Christmas and bought some presents already? I hate last minute shopping, but it’s crazy to think that in no time we will be singing Chrismas carols again 🙂 (or maybe, just listening to them and All I want for Christmas is you!) I loooved your skirt, together with the nice heels and bag! I think you look beautiful, feminine and chic! Hope you have a great weekend!

Yay, I am finally making it to your blog hon! 🙂 And wow.. that Ted Baker dress…and everything else, obvs (bag, shoes…) – just wow! To be honest, I clicked on the link right away but oh boy, the price. It is stunning, however. I love a stylish and modest midi dress that would also be a great statement. And this one is!
Plus, look at your Louboutins and Chanel… don’t even get me started how much I love them! 🙂
You always do amazing styling, Lorna!

I’m also rather surprised to discover that it’s a dress. 🙂 Indeed, it’s only the back view photos that’d give it away if I’d not properly read the text – and, naturally, I always read all of the text. 🙂

Anyway, it’s really nice. I love the mix of colours and shades. It’s quite daring, I think. There’s so much going on in terms of colour that the eye (and, I guess, brain) isn’t quite sure where to look and is being pulled in all directions to take everything in. I’m not convinced that this should work… yet it does… and perfectly so. 😀 It’s delightful!

This look reminds me of Carrie Bradshaw, but somehow classier. You did well going through all that trouble to get the Chanel bag! It certainly is magical. I couldn’t put my finger on what it was about the color, but then you said it, it’s this purple hue hiding in the burgundy shade, it brings a whole other level of “je ne sais quoi” to the look.

Thank you so much! I’m so glad you can see it too, it’s a gorgeous tone of burgundy isn’t it? That purple behind it makes it so much richer and prettier. Thank you for liking the outfit too!

There’s links in the post, it’s Ted Baker, however it was from 2015 so it’s completely sold out everywhere now, sorry 🙁
