Kurt Geiger Carvela Karen Platform Sandals in Tan

I asked on Instagram about 8 weeks ago now which style shoe you preferred out of a choice of these and another pair from Kurt Geiger. These actually came second and the other pair won hands down, however when I tried those on in the store, they looked terrible on me and didn’t suit my legs at all. After seeing these gorgeous Kurt Geiger Carvela Karen Platform Sandals in there too, I fell in love.

These Karen platform sandals have a 70’s edge to them which is perfect, but they have a much more modern twist to them. In short, I absolutely love them! They are built on a solid 100mm wooden heel with quite a thick platform so the actual steepness of the shoe is not high at all as you can see from the shape of my foot, making them incredibly easy to walk in. They feature studs around the front of the tan leather and an ankle strap which fastens with a buckle so they stay securely on your feet without slipping.

In terms of sizing for the Karen platforms, they do run small. I’m usually a 39 or a UK 6 in Kurt Geiger and I had to size up to a 40 or UK 7 in these when I got them from Debenhams. The 6 did fit, but I had a bulge of my foot coming out the sides and there was a little over hang at the back from the length, so definitely take your bigger size in these if you plan on buying them as they aren’t very comfortable when they are too tight and they don’t look as pretty.

I wore these Carvela Karen shoes around town for a couple of hours and I was fine in them while walking, but after some time my feet did get sore. As the platform is hard wood, it does put a lot of pressure on the foot over time so make sure you don’t plan on doing a lot of walking when you wear them and you will be fine, they wont hurt at all. Otherwise, they are very comfortable and they don’t cause any issues with the knees or leg muscles, even though they are heels.

I’ve worn these with denim shorts and a shirt (which you will see soon) and I can’t wait to wear them with cuffed jeans and a jacket as the weather cools down. I think they will look great worn like that! You can buy these shoes in the sale now from Debenhams and don’t forget to check out their holiday shop too, these will look amazing with a bikini on your Summer holiday! What do you think of these Kurt Geiger Carvela Karen platform sandals? Do you like them?

They’re very nice. I’d maybe not want to be on the receiving end of getting trod on but they do look great. πŸ™‚

    Lovely pair of sandals, Lorna..
It looks so nice on your feet, but it’s definitely not for me cos when I go out, I usually stay out for more than just 2 hours and do a lot of walking especially at the mall hihi..
I would enjoy it at first,, but for the next hours, I’ll surely end up with sore feet like you hihi..
But anyway, they’re still looking so lovely!
    Have a wonderful day, Lorna!

I looove them, they are so beautiful, boho, and it”s a style I love! True, KG and Carvella run small, but so many companies are like this, today.. but I am glad you got them, they really look perfect!

It’s funny as a lot of my other KG or Carvela boots are a 6, but these were crazy small!
