Chanel canvas espadrilles with denim shorts and chiffon

I firstly wanted to say a massive thank you to everyone for all of your birthday wishes over the weekend! I can’t believe that I’m 27 already, the time seems to be flying by so quickly these days, it’s crazy. I had a wonderful birthday and I will share with you in another post soon what I ended up doing and some of the presents that I received, so don’t worry, you haven’t missed out on seeing that one.

I wore this outfit a few weeks ago when I went out to run some errands around town and stop to have lunch in my favourite pizza restaurant. I have of course explained about everything I am wearing individually within this post, you just need to click the more button to see everything in detail. I thought it all paired really well together though and I’m really enjoying casual, yet classic looks like this. The chiffon material really brings a low key outfit like this up a couple of notches into a styled look in my opinion, which is perfect for a fashion blog. Also, how can I not mention… My Chanel espadrilles! Yay! You have to read on to find out more about these and how excited I am to finally have the classic pair! Please do leave me a comment and let me know what you think of the outfit. I love reading what you have to say!

Mulberry Lily in Oak – I’ve shared this Mulberry Lily bag in Oak with you before, quite a lot actually, but as it’s one of my classic bags and one of my all time favourites, I think it deserves another spotlight. I bought this bag about 3 or 4 years ago as I had fallen in love with it many months before. I was searching for it everywhere, the same time I was searching for my Mini Taylor in Deer Brown, but I’m so happy that I managed to snap it up and for less than than the retail price too! It’s been one of my go to bags for years as the brown has that vintage appearance which keeps getting darker with age. At first, since I was so into my bright colours, I never wore my Lily in Oak much as I felt it was too bland, but now, as I’ve grown up a lot, it’s a bag that I reach for the most! You can buy the medium version here.

I thought I might explain a little bit about my make-up and hair too, since I rarely ever do within my outfit posts. I use my ever faithful Barbara Panagos pressed powder foundation in Beige which is absolutely amazing! I’ve been using it for years now and I can’t be without it! It lets my skin breathe and it doesn’t feel like you are wearing make-up at all, all while covering up scars and marks. For my eyes, I lined them with a grey Mally eyeliner, put two coats of my Benefit They’re Real mascara on and then did a smokey eye look with my Rimmel grey eyeshadow set. I darkened my eyebrows with my Benefit brow powder (they are almost invisible otherwise) and then applied my Pixi lip tint in pink. I will explain about my hair at the bottom of the post too. You can see more on my make-up routine and products here.

Getting to my jewellery, I always love to wear a lot of arm candy when it’s the Summer time as my wrists feel naked and bare without bracelets. I think they really just brighten up and liven up a look and just add something more to it, to stop it from looking too plain and simple. I’m wearing various bracelets here from H&M, ASOS and Topshop and I’m also wearing my Olivia Burton Humming Bird watch that I got last year. Her watches are absolutely amazing! You can shop Olivia Burton here.

My ASOS Cami Top and Kimono are two pieces that I love a lot lately too. I’ve worn this Kimono numerous times, even on my Ann Summers lingerie shoot that I did last year, so it’s definitely gotten a lot of use. I find them so comfortable, not only do they cover up a lot of problem areas, but they keep the sun off of you all while keeping you cool! I think this one layers perfectly over the black cami top. Buy the top here and a similar Kimono here.

Vintage Levi’s Denim Shorts – You already know how much I adore my vintage Levi’s denim shorts! I seem to live in my dark blue 501’s when the Summertime comes around, however I’m always on the look out for new pairs in lighter washes. I always head into Urban Outfitters to check out their Urban Renewal collection for new shorts that I love, but I rarely ever find any. I got lucky though a few weeks ago when I found these news ones! They aren’t 501’s, they are newer as they have a zip fly and lower pocket placement, but the wash is absolutely amazing! It’s a nice mid to light blue that’s washed out and it makes the denim look perfect. I was over the moon when I found these and I’ve worn them a lot since, especially as they have a bit of a lower rise compared to the 501s! You can buy vintage Levi’s denim shorts here.

Chanel Canvas Espadrilles in Beige/Black – These Chanel espadrilles! They are everything! I showed you my Chanel Paint Splatter Espadrilles a while back when I had finally managed to get them online after years of searching, but I finally managed to get hold of the classic beige and black pair in canvas from the New Bond Street Chanel Boutique! They are a little big as I had to get size 41 and they do slip off, but I’m thinking of adding heel grips to them and trying to make them work as it’s impossible to actually find a 40 in canvas Chanel espadrilles! I will do another post on these shoes soon, purely dedicated to them, but at the moment, here’s a preview of how cute they are! I’m really lucky to own two pairs now! Both of them hurt my feet in different ways, but I’m determined to make them work! Buy Chanel espadrilles in the UK here and in the US here.

Now getting to my hair, like I mentioned above, I only had it cut a couple of months ago and already it’s grown about an inch and a half! I can’t believe how quickly it grows! I’m so used to having my hair cut about 3 times a year since it was really long, but now I have it shorter, I’m already having to plan another trip to the hairdressers to keep it shorter! I’m thinking of maybe having two inches off and going a little shorter than I did previously. Purely because it’s starting to get knotty again and I need to try and keep it healthy, which isn’t something I made sure I did when it was long. I deep conditioned it with leave in treatments once a week and tried my best, but when you’re hair is so thick, it often feels coarse.

I teamed up with Allcures to share with you one of their Summer hair care tips infographics which I absolutely love! I eat a lot of raw carrots anyway and I never knew they helped your hair! I knew they were good for your skin as I experience that a lot after eating them, but it’s great to know carrots help with your hair too. Luckily it looks like lighter blondes are in for Summer, so I’m ok in that department since I recently had highlights (which are already growing out!) but I might need to up my intake of flax seeds to make sure I keep it shiny and strong. You can click the image to view more info, but definitely take a look at some of these tips below if you want to naturally care for your hair like I’m trying to!

And oh, thanks for sharing that infographics!
I also love eating carrots.. all of the mentioned in their except flaxseeds is a part of my daily/weekly diet. THey could be the reason why my hair grows long 🙂

Oh, very nice indeed. I like everything about it – especially those gorgeous shorts. I do feel sorry for you that you’re having all this shoe pain though. 🙁 That seems very unfair so I wish you luck in solving the issues. 🙂

I’m glad that you had a nice birthday and I’ll look forward to reading your post on it. Hey, if you think time is flying by now then wait until you’re my age and time is just a blur… 😀

Glad you got the shoes after wanting them for a while, but sorry to hear they are painful and don’t fit right. Hopefully the heel grips will help 🙂
