Embracing The Wind At The Beach

Despite feeling quite ill and not being able to attend the Cosmo Blog Awards on Wednesday, I’ve actually had one of the nicest weeks. I got to spend 4 full days with my boyfriend and since we are in a long distance relationship, time together like that is incredibly important. I took a step back from the computer for those few days (not entirely of course, but cut back a lot) and enjoyed the Summer weather we have been having. One of the days we went out for dinner and then took a quiet walk to the park where we stayed for a few hours, feeding the squirrels and birds, just relaxing and enjoying the surroundings.

The day after, we took a trip to Burnham-On-Sea beach! I had only ever been there once before, last year in June as well, but this time we went during the day so some of the shops were open and we could look around. It’s a really small town with only a few high street shops, most of them being gift shops, but it was nice to just spend time at the beach and enjoy the day.

I always look at other peoples photos at the beach and they look so glamorous! Beaches over here in England are not quite the same, ha ha. They are incredibly windy and it makes it hard to take photos, but I just had to embrace the wind and work with it instead for these photos. It probably wasn’t the most sensible idea to wear my Urban Renewal floral dress either. It’s gorgeous and I adore the floral print on it, however it’s so light weight, I was constantly holding it down when I was walking, although I am pretty sure some unsuspecting passer by may have got an eyeful, lol! I paired the dress with my Topshop Black Sandals and Gold Cross Necklace, my Rebecca Minkoff Mini Affair Bag in Tortora, my Olivia Burton Butterfly Watch, some various bracelets and my Ray-Ban Erika Sunglasses in Purple. What do you think of my outfit? Comment and let me know!

I’ve also included some of my Instagram (@LornaRaindrops) photos below from my day at the beach. I just love how many seagulls are always around and the arcade always reminds me of being a kid, although I don’t play the machines now.

We ate at La Vela Italian restaurant in Burnham-on-Sea and it was delicious! Adam had a pepperoni pizza while I had my usual mushroom and ham without cheese. Adam then had a cheesecake, I only tried the cranberry coulis, but it was delicious, I loved it! I definitely recommend the restaurant if you go there!

That is a lovely beach dress – I can just feel the breeze now. I am glad you got to spend 4 whole days with your man! As someone who did a long distance relationship for two years (we are now married), I completely understand the joy of quality time together.

Love the dress- I can only imagine how frustrating it was trying to get good shots in the wind! I always seem to wind up with a mouthful of hair, myself haha
Glad to see its sunny, though! 🙂

Ha ha, that happens to me! I had to just let it all blow to the side and keep my head down 😀

I love these photos with your hair blowing around. Can you do more photos in the future with your hair getting blown around on windy days, especially with your hair blowing in your face?
