Ever since I was little, I have been obsessed with the idea of having a bedroom/closet combination that’s perfect for me. I’ve always liked the idea of sleeping in a closet, so having a bedroom which is a closet would be the most ideal situation, ever!
At the moment I only have a small bedroom as I live in a house with my family, so I can’t dedicate a big room to store my things in, so my room is actually a mess. Being a UK fashion blogger means putting up with tiny houses! I have a lot of jeans and clothes stored in tubs, folded up in cupboards and on shelves etc as well as a lot of shoes being piled up in boxes and it’s hard to reach them. It’s definitely not the dream closet bedroom I have always wanted, but it’s all I can make do with at the moment. That’s why I thought it would be a fun idea to share some inspiration that I found online and speak about how exactly I would have mine laid out if I could! You can see a couple of previews of my current room here and here.
I know this photo above is from a store that sells a lot of jeans, however since I have over 400 pairs of jeans (I have been collecting them for 10 years), most of my closet will need to be dedicated to a jeans wall. I would absolutely love those boxed shelving units which you can get from Ikea as I can fold up lots of pairs and colour coordinate my jeans in them! I think that would look so cool! Having my denim range from light to dark blues, coloured, printed, black and grey, I think it would look really pretty as well as being incredibly practical. The photo above is like a dream come true for me! I think it’s amazing! Check out the rest of the photos I chose in this post.
In terms of my bedroom, I would love something like this! A lighter colour schemed wood, possibly maple or white (I currently have maple), and then a bold colour for the decor, like bright red or pink. I think that would look beautiful! This would be my sleeping and bedroom area, then at the other end of the room would be the closet! Hopefully!
Much like Ashley Tisdale’s closet in the photo above, I would absolutely love to have a dresser in there too, so I have somewhere to sit and do my make-up at the same time as getting ready with my clothes. That would be wonderful and so practical!
This is an inspiration of how I would love things; everything set out in sections, colour coordinated and with some drawers in there too for underwear and small things!
This closet belonged to Aimee Song of Song of Style before she re-designed it, but I have always thought it looked pretty because that’s how I would store my jeans, in those boxes. I think boxes like that are great for sweaters/jumpers too so they don’t fall out of shape! Then a cabinet for shoes and a shelf for bags, how perfect is it?!
I’ve always wanted one of these storage double beds too! Being able to lift up the mattress like that with ease and storing away past seasons clothes would be wonderful! It would create a lot of space in my closet to have my current seasons clothes out! Then obviously when the weather changes, swap them back out again! Not only is it easier than having boxes under the bed, you don’t have to get on the floor and struggle to reach them all out!
I thought this bedroom was incredibly cool too! I love the bright pink and white colour scheme as it’s so fun and girly, but it’s big enough to have a double storage bed in the middle and then all of your closet space around the edges, which is another way that it would look really pretty too!
I found this photo online and I love the idea of having some of your best pieces hanging up but behind a pretty satin curtain, I think that would keep them hidden nicely and would even make the room look less cluttered! There’s so many ideas!
Much like my boxed shelving unit idea for jeans, I would adore a shelving unit for shoes too! I love the Kardashian’s closet here as it’s just filled to the maximum with amazing shoes! Having that on the side, next to the jeans unit would look so pretty, with bags all above! I love celebrity closets!
Finally, this was a general layout of how I would like my closet. I imagine that I’m looking onto this from my bed which is against the back wall and not in view. Then you can see straight onto the jackets, coats, shirts, dresses and skirts, all hung up neatly, with the sweaters folded in the middle and bags up in the top units. To the left, instead of having a sliding door system, that’s where the boxed unit would be for my jeans, all along that wall, with the shoes next to it, or on the other side. Instead of those doors on the right, I would have a nice big mirror and the island in the middle would be reserved for my jewellery and accessories! What would your dream closet look like?
