So, as I mentioned before, this post is a little bit different to usual as it doesn’t actually feature me in it. It features my lovely mum! I was challenged by Marks & Spencers to style an outfit for mum for her Christmas party and this is what we both came up with. I had a lot of fun doing this and I think it’s nice being able to include my mum in a blog post. Usually I keep everything on this blog to do with me, to keep things a little more private, but I think this was a great opportunity to make my mum feel a bit glamorous for the day! I hope you all like it!
We chose this black and white printed rose maxi dress as the shape of it was really pretty, as well as the monochrome vibe it had to it. It’s definitely a stand out dress, but in a more subtle way as it has no colour. Speaking of colour, I wanted to liven things up and inject a bit of brightness into the outfit, so I chose a red pashmina scarf to go around her shoulders. This helps to keep the chill off as well as make it vibrant. Since this is a Christmas party, she didn’t need a big bag, so I chose a burgundy purse to go with it, just to keep the essentials close by! Finally, we both decided that a bracelet was needed, so I chose this pewter and pearl white beaded bracelet. The rest of the accessories like the shoes, necklace, rings and other bracelets belong to my mum though. We had a £70 budget and with the pieces we chose, we had reached the limit. When we shot these photos though the weather wasn’t very nice at all, the wind was blowing and it had just started to rain, which is why they aren’t as great as they could be, but I think my mum looks really nice in this outfit. What do you think?
