Bundled Up In My Parka Coat

(Coat – Exact ON SALE, Jeans – Similar, Jumper – Similar, Scarf – Similar, Shoes – Exact ON SALE)

I have been wanting the perfect parka coat for months, but I hadn’t been able to find one that I thought was just right. I needed a parka coat that was really warm and comfortable, but not too bulky at the same time. I found this gorgeous one by Warehouse when I was looking on ASOS and it’s absolutely perfect! The colour is just right for winter, it has a faux fur and quilted lining, a faux fur hood trim, lots of pockets and drawstrings at the waist so you don’t have to look too boxy. It’s definitely a great coat and it’s actually on sale right now on ASOS, so you can get a great deal on it if you want it (link under main image). It does run quite big though. I took a size UK 6 in it, when I’m usually an 8. The reason for this was because they had sold out of the 8 and I was hoping the size down would work, thankfully it did.

I decided to pair my new parka coat with my Koral Los Angeles Merlot skinny jeans and a Topshop leopard print scarf. I love the colour of khaki with burgundy and I think the leopard just adds a little element of fun to the overall outfit. To keep things neutral though, I wore my Zara brown cable knit jumper and my ASH Bowie wedge trainers in Stone. It’s definitely a casual outfit, but it’s really comfortable and it kept the chill out perfectly! I did wear this outfit around town yesterday when I met up with my boyfriend to have some lunch. I also bumped into my old cow statue friend and this time he was dressed up as Santa, so I had to take a photo, ha ha. You can see that at the bottom of this post.

I did also want to update you on a couple of things as well, I am going to be posting a photo set of my mum in my next blog post! I was challenged by Marks & Spencers to style my mum for her Christmas party, which I have done, so I hope you will like those photos next! Also, if you love parka coats too and want to buy one, I made a post on 10 great women’s parka coats and also 10 stylish men’s parka coats on my other blog. Plus, with the 50% off sale at ASOS (where I chose them from), you can get a great deal! Anyway, what do you think of the outfit? Do you like it? Comment and let me know!

I love the parka!! I got myself a very similar one last month, only a lot fuller (makes me look huge with it, but since it has a built in string to cinch in the waist it isn’t that bad, still maintain the hourglass figure) and love it! Haven’t been able to wear it much here in Portugal, but I got it mainly so I have a warm coat to bring with me when I move to Austria in the beginning of the year =)

Not yet, as it hasn’t been cold enough for me to wear it in Portugal, but when I do I’ll post them on my blog =D

The parka is perfect. I had a similar one a few years ago, from AE, and it was great. I also think the military trend is still going strong. Pairing the parka with skinny jeans is a great idea. Good outfit, as always.

    Thanks for sharing!

Diggin’ it!! I have been eyeing the Sam. NYC parkas and this looks like a much more affordable alternative! Love the Ash sneaks too! Ash has definitely become a bigger part of my collection this year, particularly their boots. Have you just tried the sneakers? Did you think the Bowies ran pretty true to size? My boots definitely do, just curious because I have been dying to score some of their wedge sneakers on sale!!!

Thanks! No I actually have a couple of ASH boots too! I found them to be true to size for ASH, I took my usual size in them! I do love them!

Love the parka! I have a similar DKNY one that I got a couple of years ago. It was the last one in the store and marked down to $150 from $500.
