It was my dads birthday yesterday, so my boyfriend, my brother and I met my dad for lunch in town. We all had a meal at Wagamama’s (I know, one of my usual’s, lol) and then we went for ice cream/dessert at my favourite Italian ice cream shop. It was a really nice day out and luckily it didn’t rain as today it’s totally poured down all day! Anyway, this is the outfit that I wore for the day and I really liked being able to mix textures and prints. I don’t usually like to mix prints that are contrasting, but I thought I would change things and mix things up a little bit!
I wore my new Paige Edgemont skinny jeans in Aged Woodberry, which I got sent from the brand last week and absolutely love. You know I am addicted to burgundy skinny jeans and these have hip zippers as well as a coating over them to give them the waxed look, combined with one of my favourite Paige fits, I couldn’t love these anymore than I do! I love them! I paired them with a simple white tank top from H&M and then wore my new Warehouse black and grey checked cardigan over the top for extra warmth and layering. I love the combination of the burgundy, black and white as you know, but I thought the grey would be a nice touch to add in there too. Just to add more contrast, I layered my Zara camo print scarf over the top, just draped around my neck, to bring some more colour to the outfit and just an element of fun. I wouldn’t usually pair camo print with checks, as they can be quite the opposite of each other, but the colour combination in the outfit really makes it work in my opinion.
For my accessories, I wore my Rebecca Minkoff Mini MAB bag in Port and my beloved KG by Kurt Geiger Winona black suede booties. I thought the burgundy of the bag was needed to tie in nicely with the jeans and the hint of maroon in the scarf, but the dark black of the boots work with the cardigan. I am attempting to stray away from burgundy a little bit at the moment though, just because it seems like every single one of my outfits contains it in someway or another, but it’s so hard! It’s just such a gorgeous shade and it’s really rich! I adore it! Anyway, what do you think of my outfit? Do you like it?
