My Favourite Autumn Boots

As I have mentioned before plenty of times on my blog, Autumn is my favourite time of year. One of the reasons as to why Autumn is my favourite time of year is because of boots! Boots are a huge staple in my wardrobe and I absolutely love wearing them! Since I’m pretty much a skinny jeans and jacket kind of girl, ankle boots are my choice of footwear during the colder months as they are so easy to wear and they pretty much go with anything I put on, all the while keeping my feet warm.

I thought it would be really fun to put this post together on my favourite boots that I own for Autumn! I do own more than 8 ankle boots, however since I was choosing my favourite pairs, I have only selected 8 different pairs for this post. These are 4 different high heeled boots and then 4 flat boots, each of them perfect in their own way! You will find that even though I love colour, most of my collection is really classic! I have a variety of black boots, brown boots and taupe boots, which means I can wear them with most of the outfits I choose to put on.

First up we have my Kurt Geiger Winona Boots in both Black and Grey. These boots are my number 1 and my go to for almost every outfit! I purchased the black pair in the Bath store back in October 2012 and have worn them countless times since! They are amazing and they aren’t too high either because of the platform at the front. I spent ages, pretty much 10 months, trying to find them in grey after they sold out really quickly and finally last week, they popped up on eBay for a third of the price in my size! I snapped them up quickly and am over the moon because it now means I can wear the Winona with my light wash skinny jeans now too!

The third boot is a pair of River Island fleece lined brown boots that I got about 2 years ago. The shape of the boots is incredible and they are really pretty to look at. You can wear them with the top folded down so the fleece shows, or you can wear them up for a more sleeker look. I do adore these boots, but unfortunately I don’t wear them all that often because they are quite high, so they aren’t suitable for me to walk around in them for longer periods of time, which is purely why they don’t get as much wear. Finally, the fourth high heeled boot is a pair of Topshop shearling boots in tan. I purchased these around the same time I got the River Island boots and I love them! I mainly like the way the shearling shows through the side and the top of the boot and plays off well against the buckles. They are gorgeous boots and look amazing with skinny jeans! Again, like my River Island pair though, I don’t wear them as much as I would love to purely because of the height. That doesn’t stop me adoring them though!

Now onto my flat boots, which I tend to wear the majority of the time. First up we have my Sam Edelman Posey boots in black which I purchased a couple of months ago from Shopbop (now in the sale). I didn’t yet own a flat ankle boot in black and I thought the chain and leather plaited detailing around the top and sides of the boot just made them perfect! I love how these look worn with skinny jeans and I think they would even look adorable with a dress when it gets to Spring time! Next we have the Sam Edelman Pax boots in studded taupe. I purchased these from America about a year and a half ago because I was addicted to studs and spikes at the time. I think they add such an edge to your look and they really draw attention to the boots. The rest of the boots are a very simple and classic colour and shape, so they just tip them over the edge a little, which I love.

Next up is my beloved Sam Edelman Petty boots in Putty! I have worn these countless times, I couldn’t even put a number to it! I purchased them online at Shopbop about 2 years ago (still available) and never looked back! I wear them with skinny jeans mostly and they look amazing, especially with the lighter washes! I have even been caught in downpours wearing these and even though they do have a few spots of water damage on the suede, they still held up perfectly well! You may have noticed that I am kind of obsessed with Sam Edelman ankle boots! I’m currently eying the Petty boots in burgundy at the moment too! Finally, we have my H by Hudson Horrigan boots! I got these at the end of last year. I was actually gifted them and I love the shape of them. I never really knew much about Hudson boots before I got these, but they are so well made! I love the contrast of the leather with the buckle straps and even though these do take a while to break in (they hurt at first), they are worth it as they look pretty!

The one thing I love about womens boots is the simple fact that they don’t always need to look feminine. Sure you can buy the high heels and look sexy in them, but I often find that the ankle boots which are flat, like the few pairs I own, can look a bit masculine, but they really help to bring a look down. I love pairing masculine and feminine pieces together to create a mixture of vibes in my outfits, so I find wearing the flat boots like this really help tone everything down from being too girly and over the top. I have also included a few worn photos of my boots below. Which ones do you like the most and what boots are your favourite for the Autumn season?

Love them all but especially the Topshop Shearing boots! If I wasn’t working through a healing ankle for the last 18 months, this would be right up my alley! You have great taste!

My favorites are definitely those Kurt Geiger boots in black and grey. So chic, I couldn’t possibly pick between the two colors. I love boots with a chunkier heel like that.
