Looks I Love At The People’s Choice Awards 2011

The People’s Choice Awards 2011 was held at the Nokia Theatre L.A. Live in Los Angeles, California on the 5th January 2011. A lot of celebs attended the event and I wasn’t suprised by which celebs won the awards. There were beautiful dresses and suits on the blue carpet and quite a few of them have caught my eye. I’ve put my favourite outfits in this blog post and information on what each celeb was wearing.

Katy Perry, above and below, looked amazing! I knew what this dress was as soon as I saw a glimpse of it! It’s my favourite Betsey Johnson dress which she presented at Fashion Week for her Spring 2011 collection! You can see it here. The dress is so beautiful, I love the neon colours and the fit. I couldn’t have picked a better person than Katy Perry to wear it. She matched it perfectly with Casadei fuchsia satin peep toe heels as well! I’m not suprised she picked up 2 awards either!

Ashley Tisdale chose to wear a Farah Angsana printed gown as she posed for the photos. Ashley accessorized her outfit with Casadei heels, a beautiful Swarovski bag and earrings and she finished her look off with a Dana Rebecca cocktail ring. I thought Ashley would have opted for her favourite Christian Louboutin shoes, but it’s nice to make a change! This definitely isn’t my favourite outfit she has worn though.

Taylor Swift looked simply elegant in a nude colour dress by J. Mendel. I love the fit of it, it’s so simple but so classic at the same time. I find that Taylor always seems to go with the simple clothes and simple colours. I wasn’t shocked that she won the favourite country artist award either. Taylor does well when it comes to the country awards. She also finished off her look with Neil Lane jewellery and a pair of Prada heels.

It’s nice to see Zac Efron back in LA again and being photographed! He posed for photos on the blue carpet for the People’s Choice Awards while wearing a very slim fitting and clean cut suit by Burberry. This has to be one of the best fitting suits I have seen on a guy actually (if the trousers were a bit longer, maybe an inch or so). In my opinion, they always look better when they fit slim, they suit the body shape a lot more. Zac has always been my favourite best dressed male celebrity though, he manages to always look good. Zac also won the award for favourite actor under 25.

Emma Roberts chose a very glamorous look for the blue carpet. She picked a ruffled dress by Dior for the night which she paired with Brian Atwood satin heels, a Miu Miu clutch, a Rina Limor ring and Carla Amorim earrings. I have to say, this is definitely my favourite look for her! I adore the dress and she makes it look fantastic!

Selena Gomez looked very elegant as she arrived on the blue carpet of the People’s Choice Awards 2011. She chose to wear a simple Paule Ka dress which she paired with Guieseppe Zanotti heels, Tresor earrings, a Brumani ring and a Vahan bracelet. I love the symmetrical ruffle on this dress, it adds so much character to it! I find that as Selena gets older she is really coming into her own style, I love it!

Kate Walsh looked very bright and striking in an electric blue satin puffball dress from David Meisters Signature Collection. The colour of this dress is so pretty, it’s one of my favourites of the evening. The cut is also perfect for Kate, it suits her figure very well. Kate opted for a pair of Christian Louboutin black patent Pigalle heels to finish off her look. So beautiful!

Kim Kardashian posed for photos in a very figure hugging dress by Malandrino. The print of this dress and the fabric is really something special, it gives it so much depth and volume, I love it! Kim also wore a Rina Limor necklace, a pair of Amrapali earrings, a Chanel clutch and of course a pair of Christian Louboutin heels in Nude. Kim wouldn’t be without her Louboutins! I think this is a very classic look for her.

Kourtney Kardashian also looked beautiful. She chose to wear a dress by Gert-Johan Coetzee which she paired with a Swarovski clutch and a pair of Christian Louboutin heels in what looks like Camel. I’m not overly keen on the print of this dress though, it reminds me of lots of little worms or something like that. Kourtney still manages to look pretty though!

Last but not least of the Kardashian sisters, Khloe Kardashian. She was wearing a floor length gown in a beautiful shade of grey by Alexander McQueen. She wore a pair of Amrapali earrings and opted for a Judith Leiber clutch to finish the look. Out of all the Kardashian’s I think this is my favourite look, it comes close to Kim’s but the elegance of this dress really catches my eye.

Aly (above and bottom left) and AJ Michalka (bottom right) posed for photos together on the blue carpet as they arrived for the awards show. Aly wore a beautiful black dress with metallic silver lace detailing which she paired with Jimmy Choo heels, a Ferragamo clutch and Swarovski and Jacob & Co jewellery. AJ chose to wear a dress by George Hobeika which she paired with Sergio Rossi heels and a Levian ring. Out of the two, I definitely like Aly’s outfit the most.

Minka Kelly opted for a dress in a beautiful printed chiffon style fabric with a fabric belt around the middle. The structure of this dress is very floaty ad it looks like it could just fall off at any moment but I love the gypsy style of it. Minka wore the dress with Brian Atwood heels in suede. I don’t know much about Minka but she looks so beautiful!

And finally, Kristen Stewart. She’s wearing a Reema Acra gold sequin dress (thank you Sarah). So many designers have gold sequin mini dresses in their collections. I absolutely love the outfit though! Sequin dresses are one of my favourites and Kristen wears hers beautifully! It’s fitted and it’s glamorous. It works so well with the black open toe heels. This is definitely one of my favourite looks of the night!

I agree wholeheartedly with your choices. Even though I don’t really like Khloe’s hair πŸ™ PS Kristen is in Reem Acra πŸ™‚

Oooh thanks Sarah!! And yeh, her hair is simple but the dress is so pretty!

Anytime dear πŸ™‚ I just don’t like the hair color. It washes her out terribly.

To be honest, I never even paid attention to it LOL! I think it would look much nicer a more deep red, like Cheryl Coles, that would be pretty!

      And thanks Angy!

My favourite has to be Ashley Tisdale, a very flattering dress to suit many shapes and sizes

I like her dress to Ali, it’s pretty and perfect for Summer evenings too!

And I’m not sure Adam, she does look different though.

Love Ashley’s look πŸ™‚ Its not my favourite outfit from her, but i do like it!

Yeh, I said that too, it’s definitely not her best but she still looks good πŸ˜€

Ashley’s dress is a lovely print and nice change from her standard go-to red carpet uniform of fitted, short and strapless. The tan hasn’t settled enough and is unfortunately a bit too harsh a contrast with the spring floral pattern.

I’ll have to get used to Zac Efron’s physique and newly-shorn hair. Regardless, the man can wear a three piece suit like no other.

I’m having trouble getting into Aly Michalka’s “style”. It’s a bit Dynasty reminiscent (not just this look- in general she opts on gaudy floral sequin details at the shoulders/back) and often ages her up with cheap feeling results. She’s a gorgeous girl, no doubt- but her full lips, womanly curves and height can easily take a garment from playful/flirty to overly vampy if coupled with the wrong accessories/makeup/hair. I’d like to see her opt for less heavy makeup (lip and eye) softer curls, and learning how to balance the art of showing skin. She’s one to watch, because with the right stylist I think she could be a new 20-something fashionista. Hopefully she’ll get there.

I agree about Aly Audrey, she could definitely look amazing if she toned it down a bit, I think she is very beautiful though, she has a natural beauty to her. And I noticed Zac has gotten a lot bigger lately, he must really be hitting the gym hard! And yep, Ashley’s tan is a little too orangey, I agree with that lol.

Lorna- Yes, subtly is KEY. If you show leg, maybe cover up a bit more on top and vice versa. If Aly can bring it down a few notches, I think she’d garner more (positive) attention from fashion blogs.

Zac just wrapped filming in New Orleans in December for a new Nicholas Sparks film called The Lucky One. He portrays a marine, hence the buzz cut and extra muscle. πŸ™‚

I know πŸ™‚ I’ve seen some photos from it and things. I thought he was still filming, I didn’t know he’d finished! And yep, that’s definitely the key, it’s not good to show a lot of leg and a lot of chest at the same time, it’s one or the other, just like with make up, if you are going with really dark and bold eyes, don’t put heavy lip stick on and vice versa πŸ™‚

Thanks for your comments =) I read & reply every one =)
