Everyone knows just how amazing the original Gucci Double GG Belt is. It’s coveted by everyone who loves fashion and designer clothing, and it’s worn by almost every fashion blogger and celebrity there is. I recently did my own Gucci Double GG Belt review and shared with you how perfect the belt is, after having worn it numerous times (I’ve lost count). It’s now a staple piece in Gucci’s collections and will be available until they decide to discontinue it, but given how popular this belt is, I can’t see that happening in the near future! In fact, the opposite is happening and the fashion house is releasing new and updated versions, so there’s even more for you to choose from!
It started out with the pearls on the GG buckle (see here), which I absolutely love and would desperately want to own, but one brand new version that caught my eye is this one – the Gucci Double GG Snake Belt. Isn’t it fancy? It combines everything that I love in my own belt, including the gorgeous tan leather and the brass buckle, however it’s been given a little twist and instead of the first G being plain metal, it’s now a snake! The snake has been one of Gucci’s icons for quite some time now, being featured on their embroidery, bags, other belts and more, but they were yet to incorporate it into their classic GG logo (originally inspired by an archival design from the 70’s), until now. Isn’t it so cool? As soon as I saw it last week, I completely fell in love with it. I’m pretty sure that if I hadn’t got my original Gucci GG Belt, I would have wanted to opt for this one given how quirky/unique it is.
This belt is almost identical to my original one, as I mentioned, it has the tan coloured leather with a raw edge cut, it’s 4cm in width, it has brass hardware, and is made in Italy, so the only difference is that it features the snake. So if you love the Gucci GG Belt and want something a bit more fun and unique, I would definitely say opt for this one! It does come with a higher price tag of £450, which is more than the classic one by £130, but I think the intricate detailing on the snake really does make up for that. Don’t you? If you need any help on knowing what size to pick and get it right, you can refer back to my review for more in depth advice, but you generally measure where you want the belt to sit on you in centimeters and that’s the size you choose. Where I wear my belts is 85cm, so I chose size 85. That fits the pin into the middle hole, so you have room either side as there’s 5 holes. What do you think of the brand new and updated Gucci Double GG Snake Belt? It’s a stunning piece!
