Faux Fur Vintage Inspired Topshop Coat

In my search for an incredibly warm coat for this freezing winter that we’re about to have, faux fur was an option that I found myself leaning towards. You know that I purchased this Topshop Faux Fur Coat with vintage inspiration a few weeks back and I adore it. It’s so warm! The thing about faux fur is that it’s so thick, it doesn’t let any of the wind or cold air through the fabric, so it keeps you nice and toasty, which is ideal for me now as the temperatures have dropped dramatically. Surprisingly this one fitted really nicely and didn’t make me look like a Sasquatch, so I’m really pleased with it as faux fur coats can be hit of miss.

I decided to pair this coat with my PAIGE Verdugo Transcend Skinny Jeans in Black Shadow, my Oasis Brown Jumper, my Celtic & Co. Chelsea Boots, and my new Topshop Faux Fur Leopard Hat. As I love faux fur now for its warmth and heat trapping abilities, I thought what better than to get a hat made out of it too? It definitely does the job! It’s incredibly warm and keeps me toasty to no end, so I’m happy that I got it. With all of these pieces, I’m definitely not going to be feeling the cold this winter and that’s a joy! Both of these pieces, the coat and the hat, are vintage inspired and when I look at these photos I can see that it has a past era about it, which I really love, but it’s more modern with the way that I chose to wear it.

On another note, have you seen that Shopbop have up to 25% off right now in their Thanksgiving week sale? You enter the code GOBIG16 at the checkout to receive your discount. ALLSAINTS also have 30% off right now, site wide, with the code CYBER at the checkout, which I may have already taken advantage of last night at gone 4am when I couldn’t sleep! Who can pass up 30% off on ALLSAINTS and 25% off at Shopbop? Not me, that’s for sure!

The faux fur looks good on you Lorna… I have been hearing that lots of places are getting cold snaps… It hasn’t been too cold here yet but I am sure that will just be around the corner… I am not looking forward to it, hopefully I will be settled into my home office when that happens.. xox

Hopefully it doesn’t get too cold by you, Launna, but given where you live, it most likely will. Glad you like the outfit!

It looks very warm indeed. 🙂 I hope that the winter isn’t going to be too awful but, if it is, then you are certainly nicely set up for it. 😀

The mix of colours and tones in this coat is gorgeous and it goes so well with those black jeans and that jumper too. I also really like the shape of the coat too as it works with the wearer’s figure rather than changes it – as you say, no Saquatch. 😀

Although I still hope for a mild winter it’d be great to see you construct a look based around this coat in the event of snow. I think it’d look so good against a winter backdrop. 🙂

Oh I think it would look great with snow too! How pretty would that be for a background? I really hope it does snow and I get to wear it, like a winter wonderland situation in Finland or something 😀

Really happy you like it, do you find it vintage inspired too, or more modern? 🙂

      • November 28, 2016 / 8:38 pm

Oh certainly vintage… But, on the other hand, who decides if something is vintage or modern really? I guess if something comes back into style it has as much claim to be modern as to be vintage. 🙂

OK, well I’ll hope for lots of snow in your part of the country then… but rather less in mine… 😉

Always beautiful, dear Lorna, and yes, this way you are wearing the coat it looks modern, with black and beige and the fur hat. When I saw the outfit, really cool and beautiful, I was about to tell you that I have a similar coat from 2002 🙂 So yes, another era! I just wore it once, because yours is more beautiful in tones of beige, mine, when I saw my pictures was more to orange… 🙁 Maybe seeing your outfit now I will give it a try! Hope you have a very lovely day!

I think orange is just as beautiful though, Denise 🙂 It can look really good for faux fur coats as the fur is always different colours. I can’t wait to see if you wear it 😀

Both those pieces look so cosy! It’s tricky finding the right winter layers sometimes, great that these keep you warm! 🙂

I haven’t bought anything in the sales yet but there are so many good ones around! 🙂

Hope you have a great weekend ahead! 🙂

You look adorable Lorna! The coat is so stylish and looks very comfy, but it still has a flattering shape. Faux fur is definitely very cosy and somehow reassuring to be wrapped up in, like a comfort blanket for when you’re out! (Linus comes to mind!)

I adore this look on you, and I hope you’re avoiding the chill and staying warm!

    Lots of love Saba xx

Glad to hear you remember! The funniest episode was when Snoopy took Linus’ blanket and had it made into a tailored ‘sports coat’, and when Linus finds out he has a meltdown! xx

Yours is super chic and the hat punctuates your look very well- there’s something about fur that makes one look Oh So Alexis Carrington/Jackie Collins! Have a good start to your week (:

Thank you! I’ve heard it’s supposed to go down to -15 here this Winter, but usually anything down to -8 or so it can be, averaging around 0 to -5 in the day. Pretty chilly!
