The Vintage Green Plaid Shirt

A vintage green plaid shirt with GRLFRND skinny jeans

A few weeks ago Adam and I headed to the beach at Burnham-on-Sea with my mum and her husband. While most people were in shorts and t-shirts, I was really feeling the cold and needed a lot more layers (and a hot water bottle and warm socks when I got home) as I wasn’t regulating my temperature too well. We spotted this gorgeous lake on the way back and stopped to take my photos there, but it was absolutely freezing! It felt like it was Winter to me while shooting these, so I was actually glad to get it done, despite it being stunning.

Speaking of feeling cold and really ill though, I apologise that I haven’t been able to keep up with my social media as much as I was, but last week I got really ill again with my stomach (which I’ve had for a year now) and tomorrow I have to start a triple therapy antibiotics regime for two weeks, which I’m not too happy about, but it seems like the only way to cure what I have going on unfortunately. The pain I have been in and the amount of bloating I have been suffering has been absolutely ridiculous and possibly the worst it’s been. I can only hope the antibiotics help and don’t do too much damage.

And on another separate note before I get to my outfit, for those of you who follow my work on DenimBlog, unfortunately that’s come to an end. I’ve got a final blog post scheduled to go live there at the end of today explaining that the manager is selling the site and in the meantime, it’s being put on hold. As of tomorrow, there wont be any content being put up until a new buyer is found and hopefully they want to take me on with it and what they require from me is right for me. So we will see, I’m just glad I have The Jeans Blog to carry on with as I love denim way too much to never write about it again.

But now, finally getting to my outfit, I wore my new GRLFRND Candice Skinny Jeans in Love Hangover (similar here), which I am obsessed with! They are a brand new denim brand and you can read my review on GRLFRND jeans here, but I promise if you are like me, you will adore these! I paired them with an ASOS men’s t-shirt, my vintage green plaid shirt from Urban Outfitters and my Christian Louboutin Pigalle. For my accessories, I went with my Balenciaga Mini City in Black Suede and my Ray-Ban Aviators with Green Flash Lenses. I really love green at the moment, it might be because the leaves, grass and bushes are so plush and in full green bloom, but it’s gorgeous. It pairs with black so well, like these skinny jeans, so I can’t get enough of it. What do you think of my outfit? I always love to read and reply to your comments. Did you also have a nice long weekend?

Ooohhh I was eyeing those GRLFRND jeans at Revolve not long ago when I was looking for a good pair of black ripped knee skinnies 😀 Settled on the Joe’s Finn in Regan haha. Love that plaid shirt! They add such a fun bit of character to any outfit.

Lorna I’m so sorry to hear you’ve been unwell again and have had to take another course of antibiotics. I do hope your issues with stomach pain and bloating are resolved very soon, so you feel well again and able to resume your normal activities.

I know what you mean about this cold weather. I’m sitting here with a hot water bottle and the central heating on, as I catch up with your blog! I really love this outfit and all the green tones you’ve included, which suit the backdrop perfectly. I especially love the green reflective sunglasses, and what a lovely lake!

Sending lots of positive wishes your way for a speedy recovery.

This is probably my favorite outfit post so far! The black jeans and the green go together really well. Everything from the sun glasses to the shoes look great! I’ve always really liked black jeans and feel they are underrated. Also, the landscape there is beautiful! All around a great post!
Any chance the vintage Levi’s you recently bought will end up in an outfit post??? 🙂 The pic of those on Instagram was cool!
Anyway, I hope you get feeling better soon!

I haven’t got an outfit with them just yet, but I am doing a blog post on them on The Jeans Blog very soon! I’ve taken lots of up close photos of their details and of the wash, so you can get a good look! 😀

So glad you like the outfit though, the location was amazing and I adore black denim! It’s a staple!

Awesome, I’ll keep an eye out on The Jeans Blog for the post!

Nice that you had this trip and the lake looks great, despite the cold weather 🙂 I am sorry to hear that you are ill and taking antibiotics; I am also not well recovered and had antibiotics too, but still weak. I hope you get well soon! I also hope that denim Blog goes on with your work! You look adorable, your vintage shirt is lovely and the shoes, of cooourse! Hope June is good for you!

Aww, that is a shame that the manager is selling the site but I hope the new owner will have something right for you. You obviously love what you do there. Sorry to hear about your stomach problem again, Lorna, I remember you spoke about it last year and I thought you’ve fully recovered by now. Let’s hope this triple course antibiotic as bad as it sounds, will finally cure your stomach problem. 🙁

Thank you Shireen 🙂 I really appreciate that. There isn’t a new owner found as of yet, so I’m not sure what’s going to happen, but I truly hope the antibiotics do work, but there’s so many of them, it’s so overwhelming.

I’m happy to read that you really love green at the moment. Dare I hope for one or two more outfits featuring green coming along this year? 😀

Anyway, obviously I like the outfit. It involves green – and exceptionally nice shades of green at that. The shirt is great but it’s the sunglasses that really steal the show. Honestly – the best looking sunglasses I think I’ve seen anywhere. 😀

Lovely location too. The scenery is gorgeous. 🙂

I hope that the treatment will benefit you and that you’ll feel better soon. Take care. 🙂

Thank you, Steven 🙂 I really hope they work too, as bad as they are as they are very strong. 9 tablets a day is very scary. And yes, you will definitely be seeing more green in my outfits soon and you will see these sunglasses more too, I have them in blue, red and pink too, and purple, but the green are really something 🙂

Lorna the scenery is so gorgeous… and I absolutely adore your green plaid shirt… what a wonderful splash of color… xox

I am sorry to hear you still don’t feel well, I know that has to be incredibly stressful … I hope the medication will work. xox

I know what you mean about nice looking weather but it actually being really cold, that was how it was here for us in the month of May, I was beginning to wonder if it would ever get warm, it’s finally warming up… yay
