Plum Faux Fur With Leather Jeans & Over The Knee Boots

How pretty are all of the Autumn hues around at the moment? Whenever I see a pile of orange leaves on the floor I just want to go and play around in them! Autumn always gives some of the best backgrounds and settings for outfit shoots though, much like this one. I love the way the colours play off against my outfit here, it’s something that I think is always important; locations that complement the outfit.

So what was I wearing for this look? I took part in the #YumiLovesWinter campaign and chose this gorgeous Yumi Faux Fur Swing Coat in Plum to style. I had seen this coat on a couple of other fashion bloggers as well as on their website and completely fallen in love with it. I’ve got a thing for faux fur as I love how warm it keeps you and how soft it feels. This coat is no exception. The ombre purple and pink tones that it has to it are perfect as well, I love it! I chose to pair this faux fur jacket with my Topshop peplum top and my new Shopbop Principle BLANK NYC Vegan Leather Jeans that I purchased a couple of weeks ago. I’ve always been a huge fan of the faux leather from BLANK and this pair is high rise and cropped, which makes them absolutely perfect (find out more about the Shopbop Principle Denim Collection here).

Now getting to the boots, aren’t these just stunning? They are the Ted & Muffy Suede Over The Knee Empress Boots (similar here) which I purchased last week from the website with 25% off. I saw them in store when I was there for the bloggers event and after staring at them online, I’m obsessed with them! I took them in size 39 and a calf size of 30 as the suede is stretch. It’s amazing being able to have such a tight fitting pair of boots that are thigh high! They have a little tie detail on the back which you can pull tighter to make them stay up and the toe is pointed, while the heel is thick and not too high so they are incredibly comfortable. These are definitely my new favourite boots! I’m developing a huge crush on tall boots now! Aren’t these just beautiful? So this is my most recent outfit, what do you think of it?

I’m still very much thinking “Jo Grant” when I look at this outfit. It’s not the same as any one specific Jo Grant outfit but there are certainly similarities to her general style and look – which was quite iconic at the time. I’m also thinking “1970s” too – but that might well just be the Jo Grant thing that’s giving off a 70s vibe. 😀

Anyway, putting Jo Grant to one side, overall I think it’s a very striking outfit. I love the colours in your coat and how well they work with your top. Those boots really are seriously impressive and I can imagine that they’d look equally great with a very large number of your outfits.

Lovely location too. The 7th photo is my favourite of this shoot – I hope I’ve counted right! 😀

I quite like that one too 🙂 And I did get what you mean about Jo Grant when I googled it, she did have a fluffy jacket, not quite the same colour, but she did, ha ha!
