The long red maxi dress with gold ankle strap heels
Good morning from smoggy England! I hope you are all well and that your allergies aren’t playing up too much from the air. I can barely see past the trees or road myself, it’s that thick! I am just hoping that it wont block our view of the eclipse tomorrow! I’m really excited about that! Luckily we shot these photos on the weekend when the air was clear, however it was absolutely freezing so please do excuse the blue tinge to my skin and the goosebumps, ha ha!
I’ve collaborated with Boohoo.com on this post to bring you a prom look. I got to choose a full outfit from the Boohoo prom collection and showcase something I would wear. I never actually got to go to my own prom night as I never had a date (I was pretty boyish and goofy) and I wasn’t too well, so that’s something I have always missed out on, but I really like this outfit that I ended up choosing. One of my favourite movies is Never Been Kissed and I always remember Drew Barrymore’s character in it on prom night, how it changed so much from her being the geek originally and then the really cool girl the second time around. Have any of you seen that movie? Since I was the geeky one, it always sticks with me!
I was wearing this beautiful Sophie Plunge Neck Front Split Maxi Dress for my look, paired with the Becca Metallic Cuff Heels, finished off with a Elvie Snake Arm Cuff and a Lola Aztec Arm Cuff, all from Boohoo. I then chose to wear my new Topshop glittery ring and finished it off with a silver sparkly glitter heart clutch which I got from my mum years ago, unbranded. The material of this dress is really stretchy and silky, so it clings everywhere, making it really sexy in my opinion. The neckline is quite deep though, and the split does ride up quite high, but it definitely makes it a head turner in my opinion, especially with the gorgeous deep wine colour it has to it! I think the shoes are gorgeous too with the gold ankle strap, it has such a pretty engraving detail all around it, combined with the white lizard print.

I didn’t have a prom night. When I was at secondary school a prom was just something we used to see in American TV shows and movies – but the concept hadn’t yet really crossed over to the UK in any big way. It’s amazing how quickly times change. 🙂

Hey Lorna! I hope that you’re doing well and that the weather in England has cleared up. Your dress is lovely- I believe I already commented on that fact on insta. Anyway, I’m here to pick your brain about your specialty- denim.
I just ordered a pair of Levis “Super Skinny Motion” jeans. Are you familiar with these? I haven’t worn Levis since I was a kid but based off the description, this pair seems to be something that I might enjoy. Plus, after paying big money for R&B (still remains my favourite..!) and Citizens of Humanity, these seemed practically free.

Anyway, what are your thoughts on Levis? I know they are really the original blue jean maker and are making a come back in the fashion world. I’m hoping the size will fit and shape will stay.

ps- my new Rocket skinnies are great! They don’t fit like my pair in Axel, they are quite stiff and the knees don’t fit as well (I’m assuming due to a lack of elasticity) but I’m still looking forward to wearing them!

Hey! Those look really cool! I haven’t tried the super skinny motion ones, those are new to me, but Levi’s in general I am a huge fan of. I have the Slight Curve and the Junior Legging jeans, both of which I adore. I have some 501s and 501 shorts as well as some skinny boyfriend jeans, so you can see I like them! Ha ha. I don’t wear them as much as I do Paige, COH etc, but I do like Levi’s. I’m quite fond of them since they are the original jean makers, so I hope yours are great on you! And yeah, the Axel from COH are super soft and stretchy, so I love how they fit me too, but the other Rockets are a lot tighter and stiffer for sure!
I know that I have seen quite a few pairs of your Levis on all your blogs and they all look so great. That is partly why I was so inclined to give this pair a whirl. I am totally excited to try this new pair, hopefully I will be on to a new favourite jean that I can stock up on.
