Ultimo Lingerie x Raindrops of Sapphire

ultimo lingerie box black new Ultimo Lingerie x Raindrops of Sapphire

Ok, so this is something entirely different to anything I have ever done before, but being a fashion blogger means that I’m always about pushing my boundaries and trying to create new things. I was contacted by one of the UK’s leading lingerie brands, Ultimo, with an opportunity that I didn’t want to pass up! They are a brand that I respect and admire, plus they have some fantastic lingerie for all sizes. I got the Ultimo Va Va Voom Bra and Brazillian Knickers set and at first, I was quite nervous about the whole situation, but lots of people reassured me that really, underwear is not that different to a bikini or swimwear, as long as it’s tasteful and classic, which it is.

These photos were taken this weekend and I know it’s quite a step out of my comfort zone, so I would love to know what you think! Isn’t the set gorgeous though? I’ve never had a bra with satin straps above the cups before, it’s definitely a unique touch that I love! It’s absolutely gorgeous! This Va Va Voom Ultimo set is now in the sale too, so if you like it, you can get it by clicking here, but you can read my review on the pieces just below.

Both pieces run true to size for UK brands (it’s very different to the US sizing as I believe the UK runs smaller), so I took the same size that I am in La Senza or Ann Summers, which is a 34DD, but in comparison to my Victoria Secret size, I take a 34D, depending on the style of course. That should clear any sizing issues up for you! The bra itself is really nice though, it has great padded support and it is push up, so it gives a really nice silhouette. The knickers to match are also really delicate and lovely. I know lingerie and underwear is a huge part of every woman’s life, we wear it everyday like men wear boxers of briefs, so with that being said, I decided to share these photos with you, despite being nervous. Please do let me know what you think though!

Thanks Karen, yeah I am actually measured at a 32, however I hate the feeling of being restricted or anything tight around my rib cage, it feels horrible, that’s why I choose to go with a 34. I can’t handle the 32 and how it feels.

I don’t know if you remember me. You commented once on a blog post of mine, but nice job! These are some amazing shots. I actually have been nervous in the past about shots like this. I actually passed one up a year or two ago. Now, you make me realize that it’s just underwear. So, next time something like that happens I won’t make the same choice.

Hi! Thank you so much! That’s really kind of you. Don’t get me wrong, I was apprehensive and very nervous about it too, I almost didn’t do it, but I am glad that I did! I think if it’s done arty and classy, it’s ok, it’s no different to bikinis! I’m glad it inspired you!

You look fabulous! I agree with what others have said about the back size though…I was wearing a 32DD for ages before I found out I should actually be wearing a 30E (28F in some brands!)…know what you mean about comfort though! Either way, gorgeous pictures and gorgeous lingerie…nice knickers (and bras!) are so important aren’t they!

You are lucky to have boobies that big, lol! Yeah, I do fit a 32E, but it’s not comfortable for me and I hate it, so I much prefer to go up one size for the back and be at ease, I feel like I’m being suffocated otherwise and everything digs in and leaves marks. It’s not nice. The cups fit perfectly for me though in the size I wear, I’ve been fitted numerous times and there’s no problem with the cups, I just can’t deal with he tightness around the chest. Thank you for your compliments though!

Lorna, I’ll have to admit that it has never struck me to suggest, or even imagine, you to do lingerie posts.
This must have been waaay outside your comfort zone to do. So I can only compliment you for your courage and self-confidence here.
And of course, I love the photos. They emit a feeling of sweet romance, delicate beauty, and a tender almost supernatural sensuality. Photos to fall in love with :-)
Especially the bra, with its extra strap on top of the cup, really compliments your curves and adds this extra little touch of sexiness. But everything is done with taste and elegance, respecting both you as a woman as well as the sensibilities of your readers.
On a technical note: The black/white photos seem a bit dim and one-dimensional in their lighting, and struggle to really show off the wonderful lighter-than-air textures of the lingerie pieces. But this is minor stuff.
As usual, Lorna; you’re the best !!!

Thanks Karsten! That’s kind of you to say so, it definitely was outside of my comfort zone, but I’m trying to eliminate that comfort zone as much as I can now really, try out new things! The lighting was not great, you are right, but that’s what you get living in cloudy England and using indoors when there’s no professional lighting, ha ha :)

Is that the h&m kimono you posted a while back? You know I went and purchased that thing. Its super super pretty, but I’ve yet to wear it. I made a mistake and overestimated my size, so its a bit long for me. I should have sized down and it would still be loose, light and airy, but the right length. Why am I sharing all of this. I’m not certain.

Ha ha, yeah it is the H&M Kimono. I sized down to a size 6 I think as Kimonos always tend to run big, sorry yours doesn’t fit!
