There were so many amazing dresses and shoes at the MET Ball 2010 which was held at the Metropolitan Museum of Art on Monday (May 3) in New York City. I just had to blog about them! I spotted quite a few Christian Louboutin shoes as well! I love pretty dresses and heels, it would be amazing to attend a red carpet event like this! Glitter and neutral tones made a huge appearance this year. The ladies looked absolutely mind blowingly dazzling!
Sarah Jessica Parker (above) looked stunning in a sparkly gown by Halston with Fred Leighton vintage diamond bracelets. Gosh I love this dress! It’s so feminine, it’s like a fairytale. That matching bow in her hair is so girly as well! I want this ensemble!
Taylor Swift (above) looked so elegant in a Ralph Lauren Collection ivory plisse georgette beaded gown. I just love the innocence of this dress! Knowing her love for Christian Louboutin, I wonder if she had a pair on underneath?
Katy Perry (above) wore a dress that actually glowed with LED lights in an array of colours which I am in love with! She also wore Christian Louboutin Strass Lady Claude shoes and Lorraine Scwartz jewels. I want that dress so bad, it’s amazing! It’s my favourite dress of the entire night! Actually it’s my favourite outfit of the entire night as I want those Strass Lady Claude’s too… If only I could afford them!
Jennifer Lopez (above) wore a stunning crystalized Zuhair Murad gown with a matching colour clutch. This dress reminds me of a princess! It’s truly amazing. She looks so sultry and lustful. I always love her style.
Hilary Rhoda (above) looked absolutely gorgeous in a red and black two tone pleated top dress which she paired with the brand new Christian Louboutin Madame Butterfly Booties! Gosh I love those!
Thandie Newton (above) really rocked the metallic purple in a strapless Vivienne Westwood dress. The colour is just stunning! I would love a dress or a top in this colour, it’s mouth watering!
Nicole Richie (above) wore a sparkly long dress by Marc Jacobs from his Fall 2010 collection with a black glittery clutch. I love how it fits her! It’s definitely a Nicole dress, it suits her chic style perfectly. I wonder if she has Christian Louboutin shoes under there? She normally does!
Eva Mendes (above) pulled out the floral prints for the Ball. She wore a Dolce & Gabbana floral dress with Verdura jewels, black satin Wagner pumps by Brian Atwood and a Judith Leiber bag. I think she looks so classy and sexy! I really love bold floral prints, they are so pretty and perfect for my love of bright colours!
Rachel Weisz (above) stunned the onlookers in a Oscar de la Renta custom made fuchsia silk faille strapless gown with a draped bodice, Private Platform Sandals from the Choo 24:7 Collection, jewelry from Fred Leighton and a Roger Vivier Boite de Nuit clutch. That colour is my favourite! Fuchsia is so pretty!
Emma Watson (above) looked absolutely magical in a custom made Burberry white gown. It’s amazing how beautiful she looks and how well she has done when she is so young! I love the dress, it’s so elegant.
Blake Lively (above) wore a very short and very cute blue Marchesa peacock draped chiffon strapless dress with ruffled paisley detail and Christian Louboutin Lili Marlene shoes. I think this outfit is gorgeous and I want those shoes!
Rachel Bilson (above) also donned a floral style print for the Ball. She wore a fitted, belted dress by Louis Vuitton and a pair of Jimmy Choo heels. I think she looks amazing, I love it! You could wear this dress casually in the day as well, it’s so versatile.
Maggie Grace (above) wore a silvery grey fish tail style dress with lace print and a matching clutch. She really suits this dress, it goes so well against the red carpet and the shade matches her skin beautifully.
Jessica Alba (above) kept it very elegant and simple in a Sophie Theallet for GAP dress with House of Lavande jewels and Ferragamo sandals and a clutch. Jess is so beautiful, she never needs a bright dress to make her stand out.
Eva Longoria (above) wore a Marchesa Silver embroidered platinum crepe gown with a flared cascade skirt and a matching crystal embroidered medium clutch. She also wore a pair of Christian Louboutin glitter Declic shoes. I love those shoes! I need something glittery in my Louboutin collection.
Gwen Stefani (above) was another celeb to bring out the sparkly nude tone dress. She wore a gown from her own L.A.M.B line and I think it’s stunning! It’s incredible to see the talent that some of these celebs have when it comes to designing. This dress fits her perfectly and it’s such a beautiful shape. She also had on a pair of Christian Louboutin Titi shoes.
Maggie Gyllenhaal (above) wore a puffy black corset style dress by Louis Vuitton with thick black straps. She looks so sultry in it and I love the design of the dress. So sexy! It looks very dominating.
Emmy Rossum (above) looked so vibrant in an electric blue dress by Kenneth Cole which she accessorized with a House of Lavande collar necklace with semi-precious stones. I love it when celebs aren’t afraid to wear a bold colour! It really brightens up the red carpet!
Anna Wintour (above) kept it classic and simple in a tight, slim fitting, ruffled silver dress with an embellished cardigan. I always admire her as the editor in chief of Vogue, she is an amazing woman! She is so elegant.
Camilla Belle (above) heated up the red carpet in a stunning red gown by Jason Wu. I am in love with this shade! It’s absolutely gorgeous against her skin tone and the shape is perfect! It’s so flattering.
Karolina Kurkova (above) donned a gypsy style white dress by Altuzarra with a pair of gold and brown platform shoes. I think she looks so chic! It reminds me of a peasant style dress which is so summery.
Sienna Miller (above) wore a very low cut and drapey dress by Emilio Pucci with strappy sandals in the same tone of blue. I’ve always loved Sienna’s hair, it’s so shiny and silky, it looks really healthy and she has the most beautiful smile. She is a gorgeous woman!
Anne Hathaway (above) was another celeb to rock the glitter and nude tone dresses! She dazzled in a corset style puffy dress by Valentino with jewels by Bulgari, shoes by Casadei and bag by Ferragamo. She looks naturally flawless and so beautiful!
Alexa Chung (above) wore a Phillip Lim Tuxedo head to toe for the Ball. I’m really undecided on this outfit. Alexa has such a unique style and that explains exactly why she wore it but I’m a girly person and I don’t think I can bring myself to like it very much myself, however on her, she works it very well!
Chanel Iman (above) was another celeb to wear the glitter trend but she opted for a jumpsuit by Michael Kors. I would normally say this outfit on the red carpet is a big no no but I actually love it! She looks amazing.
Now I can’t wait for the next red carpet event! I love them! I hope you enjoyed reading the post! What looks did you love the most?
